Red Centre. The Red Centre of Australia is dominated by Uluru or Ayers Rock. The low hills of red sand sweep across the region like waves; spinfex and saltbush grow atop them and a multitude of insects, birds and animals live there. Other spectacular rock formations such as Kata-Juta and Devils Marbles (Karlu Karlu) attract many visitors.
